Pacific Palisades is named on the Los Angeles Fire Department's Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone list; a designation covering the hillside and mountain portions of the neighborhood, which pre-dates the January 2025 Palisades Fire (the Santa Monica Mountains were mapped Very High as far back as 2011). As of July 26, 2026, the City of LA's codified map reference is still the 2011 map; check your parcel on the official viewer for your current designation.

Map-vintage caveat
LAMC ยง57.4911.1.1 still defines the Very High FHSZ by the 2011 map (Ordinance 181,719); no ordinance adopting the March 2025 state-recommended maps has been found for the City of LA. LADBS's 2026 plan-check materials reference "local and State maps." Both facts are presented with their dates rather than implying one map cleanly governs.
