Anaheim Hills, the hillside area in the eastern part of the City of Anaheim, is designated Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone under CAL FIRE's March 2025 recommended maps. The City of Anaheim adopted these maps by Ordinance No. 6612, effective June 17, 2025. As of July 26, 2026, this designation is confirmed specifically for the Anaheim Hills area; the rest of the City of Anaheim does not have a separately confirmed citywide tier in our research.

FHSZ: Very High (Anaheim Hills area)
The Anaheim Hills area, the hillside eastern part of the City of Anaheim, is designated Very High under CAL FIRE's March 24, 2025 recommended LRA maps. This is confirmed by a GIS point check of the Anaheim Hills area (around 34.8353°N, 117.7460°W) and corroborated by the City of Anaheim's own Final EIR for the Anaheim Hills Festival project (dated June 10, 2025), which quantifies 8.26 of 16.2 acres at that site as Very High and 2.17 acres as High, citing the March 24, 2025 OSFM map.

Anaheim Fire Marshal Lindsay Young stated these zones "sit in the east end of Anaheim within our Anaheim Hills area" in ABC7's reporting on the 2025 map update.

Ordinance adoption
The City of Anaheim adopted the 2025 recommended maps by Ordinance No. 6612, §2, effective June 17, 2025, amending Anaheim Municipal Code §16.40.020. This resolves what was earlier an open question; the City's own Anaheim Hills Festival EIR (dated June 10, 2025) had stated the map was "not yet adopted" as of that date, but the ordinance a week later confirms adoption.
Scope of this designation: This designation and its sourcing are specific to the Anaheim Hills area of the city. We do not extend the "Very High" claim to Anaheim as a whole, since no source in our research confirms a citywide tier.
